People come and go but there are only three things that are here to stay; land, water and air.
Our Charles County Commissioners bailed out the Club House and the Stadium. Then they bought themselves SUVs and gas on your tax dollars.

I do not support casino gambling. I do not support bailing out failed race tracks. The history of these endeavors in Charles County and Maryland speak for itself.
I do believe that a new revenue stream in the county to provide tax relief and correct pass decisions is needed. Past and some present County Commissioners have been involved with creating a paid fire and emergency service to the detriment of the volunteer service in the county. This was done without a way to fund these new services. The most effective way that the volunteer services were funded was outlawed under Governor Glendenning.
We are faced with budget woes; drop in charity contributions, and unfunded future obligations that our current Commissioners are committing our county to.
My proposal is to allow nonprofit organizations such as; Lions, Elks, Moose, VFW, and the American Legion to install slot machines.
They have a closed membership.
They have a history of giving back to the community.
Regulatory rules:
Maximum of five machines.
Only members can use the machines.
Must have Maryland state lottery license.
Machine placement must fall within current fire safety guide lines.
Benefits for Charles County:
Tax revenue that can be shared between the county and state.
Increased membership and participation in these organizations.
Organizations giving back to the community by providing needed resources.
Providing a healthy community environment to bond the county together.
